A day in the life of real life Catalina travelers!

After a night spent gallivanting around Venice and eating burritos at 4am - it was off to CATALINA with Jane & Steve! You could imagine my good cheer! As we waited for the Catalina Express to taxi us across the Pacific Ocean to our destination, I befriended some Boy Scouts at the San Pedro Harbor! - Befriended is a nice way to say that I accosted these nice little awkward boys and helped them get a badge or two!

Once on our remote island, we ate Mexican food!

We tried to get our palms read and find a plate for my collection to no avail...
I saw many of these. I think in this picture I am keeling over from heat exhaustion...
We stood by a fountain in HOT HOT HEAT...
Adventurized the place in our #95 golf cart then came to the conclusion that most of Catalina looks like a third world country!

Trotted with nature along the "scenic route" - it wasn't all that scenic...
Went to a Bird Sanctuary!!! - which turned out to be an abandoned place where homeless people had taken up shop...
Trespassed at the Catholic Church to use their restroom...
Taking a cue from a homeless man, I took a nap with a stray cat and now probably have fleas...
Looked to the Heavens for answers to why we were in Catalina...
Prayed a little that our boat would be on time...
Ate pistachio ice cream, people watched then happily headed home as water kicked up on our faces for an hour and a half...

Way to be a downer MEG!!! - In actuality it was really fun being with my parents and discovering a new land!

My trip to Catalina was SO fun!! Then again, we were with a bunch of friends and had a few cocktails & mostly hung at the beach. But we rented a golf cardt, ate at the heliopad & rented a little boat and toured the island on our own- I can't wait to go back!

I love that you are still into "men in uniform," although those are really boys in uniform, in training, to be men in uniform.
