My mom's friend, Kerri, emailed me a bunch of never before seen photographs of the time I stayed at her parents house (who obviously have a thing for wallpaper) in 1978. By the looks of these photos I have the same haircut as now! Apparently I was pawned off so my parents could go away for the weekend with their best friends, Kerri & Scott. I love that I was put in a bed with a total stranger who read me "Farm Pets" - I look a little scared! I guess this nice elderly couple eventually won my trust by feeding me ice cream, which I seem to enjoy. My mom assures me that red yarn bows were all the rage in 1978, I just thought we were poor!

we couldn't afford ribbon so I used my knitting yarn for your pony tails...and the farm animal book was your favorite and I suspect that's why you joined the 4H club in your teens? And possibly why you don't eat ham!
oh mother...
that is hilarious!!!!!! that is my grandparents house!!!!!! I had no idea that you stayed with grammie and papa... no worries, they are VERY nice people and loved to spoil children. the stranger reading you the story is Vickie Lynn, my cousin. Haven't seen her in about 10 years.
......priceless!!!
You were adorable!! That wallpaper just gave me a headache.

You were so, so cute! And the yarn ribbons was not because your mom couldn't afford other ribbon... it was the trend! We all had them! Anyone ever see the Brady Bunch? Your mom is funny. :)
Brooke- what ever happened to Vicki Lynn - my bed partner?
seriously - i think she lives in st. louis, has a couple of kids? she is the ONLY family member in the Wood / COttongim clan that I don't know anything about... I haven't seen her in probably 10 years... Wish I could tell you more or help you reconnect... sorry.
I love the butterfly quilt AND wallpaper... that room is now blue.
that is hilarious! you weren't poor you freak. i have good memories of pimpin in your daddy's el camino. would a poor kid have one of those? NO. hey, apparently our parents went out one night and left all 4 of us (you, me, beau and lindsey) with some hotel babysitter in hot springs so they could go to the races. she was SO mean that we hid under the bed and hid lindsey in the cooler. ask your mom. i am scarred for life!
emily- what is a cooler? and I didn't know Lindsey was with an E till now!!!!
