Beware The Friendly Skies

I am in Tulsa, Oklahoma 74114 for my Grandma's memorial on Monday...It is 32 degrees and the weather man said we are experiencing "light freezing rain" - huh? I am so not ever prepared for conditions such as these. Don't fret, I did bring a light sweatshirt!

I met a 70 year old man on my 3 hour flight last night whose breath hinted alcohol. I tried to read and listen to music, but could tell this wasn't going to be an option for long. His opening line was "Pretty young things like you get people in trouble" - we discussed his love life the entire time!! He left his wife a few years ago for another woman. I urged him to try to woo back his wife of 41 years with flowers and sorrowful tears and ditch his "sweetie" who is 35 years his junior. He is torn as you can imagine. His wife is old & stuck in her ways and certainly not as free spirited as violin playing "sweetie" - but still I think they have a long history which I tirelessly reminded him. Once we landed he made me listen to 2 messages from young "sweetie" who wants a "break" from him to "find herself" - he asked me what I thought she was thinking (frankly, she sounded drunk). He took a brief break from the love triangle to offer up words of wisdom for me - "Megan, you MUST run a marathon." - He insists this will change my life and I will begin to enter marathons all over the world -UMMMM....not sure about this. We made plans to meet at starbucks in the morning between 9 and 10 and then we hugged (I never said this story was pretty!) - I indeed went to starbucks this morning, but purposefully at 8:30!!!!
