Merry Christmas!

My family and I had a smashing good time today. My mom and I found the only Starbucks open in town (25 minutes away) and hit that up first thing so we were charged for "Breakfast Casserole" (a delicious family tradition Christmas morning meal) and present opening! My dad has a rule that with each gift opened the whole group needs to test it out, try it on, read it, play with it, talk about it at length, smell it, find a place in the house for it, etc. for at least 15 minutes - so as you can imagine, Christmas lasts all day with that level of commitment! I was reunited with a bunch of presents I had picked out on our shopping excursion to Kansas City as well as a few surprises! Please note my lovely pearls and grey sweatshirt...

The definition of a good Christmas for me is getting some sort of Frida Kahlo object...Alas, this time it is a calendar!

My mom with her new pumpkin enzyme face mask! - A good example of the 15 minutes of fun following the opening of a gift...

This book is about one final shift at a Red Lobster going out of business on the edge of a run-down Connecticut mall (believe me I heard all about it and was even read passages)

Boxing Match: My Dad with his new gloves and my Mom with her new oven mitts (covering her orange face) - great way to kill time before we could open another gift!
