When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Paint

Yours truly has spent the last two days entirely on a jobsite in Brentwood...I have met the fellas at 7am each morning. I had the electrician rip out speaker wires in a wall and close them up with drywall, I picked grout colors for the mosaic tile, watched as they demoed walls and put up blocking, approved semi gloss vs. gloss finish samples, made a tile screw and grout run, I freaked out when the caesarstone fireplace hearth had to be floated 3/4" on one side and only 3/8" on the other side to be level to receive the mantle, discussed options to prevent the tile from cracking, brainstormed clever base shoe options, I raised my voice at the G.C. and even hung up on him when he raised his voice at me, I ate lunch next to Kevin Bacon and his daughter @ the Brentwood Country Mart, I chased people via the phone, helped carry a mantle, went to my car and screamed as loud as I could, watched mud dry, tried to close off an old air conditioner vent to make the wall read less choppy, researched modern air vent grilles, laid out an extravagant lucite cube display system, learned Spanish, approved paint colors, problem solved the hearth reveal issue, gave a few mean looks, pep talked the crews, helped the housekeeper fold laundry, chose knobs for the Kitchen, demanded full tiles with no cuts on the floor, measured for a weird metal insert for the fireplace and then begged the painter (who was threatening to walk off the job) to stay late this evening and finish his work! The slew of guys I am meeting tomorrow morning at 7am would only be able to start electrifying the wall and hanging the cubes if the wall was finished! The painter was so angry at his boss for making him stay until the wall and crown were finished and spent hours cussing and kicking buckets of paint. I even joined in the painting to move this thing along! - and I will be back out there tomorrow morning! Thrilling, I KNOW!
